Lloyd said his delegation that attended Special Olympics Caribbean Business Meeting left very satisfied with the outcome of the discussion. At the meeting, Lazar emphasized the need to introduce a Special Olympics Caribbean Week of Activities.
The concept of Special Olympics Caribbean Week of Activities and Caribbean Games was well accepted and it was agreed that a formal presentation should be proposed to the Caribbean Board.
Suggesting further, the need for the revival of the Special Olympics Caribbean Games, Mr. Lazar said the primary objective of the meeting was to discuss issues related to the development of Special Olympics within the region.
Other delegates on the St Kitts Nevis delegation were National Director, Mrs. Clarice Cotton; and Board Secretary Mrs. Debra Hellouch, who reported that the meeting was also attended by Caribbean stakeholders as well as participants from Special Olympics Connecticut in the USA.
A healthy discussion on sports development and a practical demonstration in Bocce played by Special Olympics Athletes from St Lucia were among activities which formed the meeting. Bocce is one of the Special Olympic sports favorites.
