Phillip was at the time extending congratulations to Collins on his winning the Bronze Medal, in the 100m of the 2011 World championships in Daegu, South Korea, on Sunday, 28th August 2011.
The Sport Minister said he was especially thrilled for Kim. This is Kim’s 8th straight participation at the World Championships; competing in an individual event. Having participated in 1995 with the St. Kitts and Nevis Relay Team (4×100); counting that relay would make his appearance in this year’s Championships his 9th.
Mr. Phillip also used the occasion to commend the President of the St. Kitts & Nevis National Olympic Committee, (SKNOC), Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater and his Executive; SKNAAA President, Mr. Glen Jeffers and the rest of the SKNAAA Family, for the planning and implementation done to support Kim in accomplishing this monumental task.
The Sport Minister said he joins the nation in acknowledging our Daegu, 2011 World Championships Bronze Medal winning Sprint Icon Kim Collins for a job well done. “May he continue to represent our Federation with Passion, Power and Pride on and off the track,” said Phillip.

Telecommunications & Post said he was also extending the congratulations on behalf of the People and Government of the Federation of St. Kitts-Nevis.
