St. Kitts & Nevis Hunting for More Medals in Isle of Man

A five member delegation is now in that country for the competition which runs from 7th – 13th September, 2011.

Heading the team is Chef de Mission, Mr. Juslyn Daniel, assisted by Head Coach, Donnell Esdaille.

The participating athletes who will be representing the federation are Ms. Noha Herbert, Mr. Adrian Williams and Mr. J’Anthon Silliday.

Officials from the St. Kitts & Nevis Amateur Athletic Association, SKNAAA, have advised that Herbert will participate in the 100m and 200m, while both Williams and Silliday in the Javelin Throw.

Ms Herbert and Mr Williams recently competed in the IAAF Youth Championships in Lille, France while the trio represented the SKNAAA at the Carifta Games held in Montego Bay, Jamaica in April, 2011.  The SKNOC is very hopeful about the chances of its team.

Mr Adrian Williams’ gold medal performance in the Under 17 category Javelin event at 2011 Carifta Games has made him Javelin Record Holder, while Mr Silliday won a bronze medal in the same event.  Ms Herbert’s performances in competition and training have been consistent, said the SKNAAA.

The team was announced in a press release by the St. Kitts & Nevis National Olympic Committee, SKNOC.

The SKNOC competed in its first Commonwealth Youth Games in 2009, when, Mr Jason Rogers captured the Federation’s first medal by winning the bronze medal in the 100m.
