The home team is scheduled to meet the visiting Puerto Ricans at 8:00pm, as the two countries try to make it to the final squad of nations that will participate in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The game is one of the many preliminary matches being played between various nations but it is the first for the Sugar Boys who are also expected to play St. Lucia, Canada in Group D of CONCACAF.
The last time St. Kitts and Nevis met, the local side defeated Puerto Rico 1-nil, in what was the Digicel Cup of 2010.
This is an important match for St. Kitts and Nevis, which must come out at the top of their Group if they are to qualify. Only one team from this group will go through to the next stage.
St. Kitts and Nevis has recruited the celebrated striker and former Newtown player, Keith Kayamba Gumbs to help bolster the frontline which for sometime has been of some concern to the technical staff, according to a release from the local governing body of the sport.
Following Friday night’s game, St. Kitts & Nevis will move on to St. Lucia for their second encounter.
