The delegation missing 3 athletes due to prior competition will be based in Watford, training at Everyone Active Watford Leisure Centre Woodside, and staying at the Mercure Watford Hotel.
The athletes were given a heartfelt welcome by the elected Mayor and John Fuller, Hertfordshire Ambassador for the 2012 Games as they commenced training Monday morning.
The team will remain in Watford until the Athletes Village in the Olympic Park opens on 21st July.
The team is also expected to visit the Harvey Road School in Croxley Green who raised £1,600 for the team through fundraising activities at the school.
”Welcoming our first pre-games overseas Team from St Kitts and Nevis for three weeks of training was a great event on Monday. With medallists from the World, and Commonwealth Games including multi-medallist Kim Collins this team has real prospects in London 2012 and it is our privilege to be hosting them here in Hertfordshire,’ said John Fuller Herts 2012 Ambassador.
Chef de Mission of the St Kitts and Nevis Olympic team Keith Hyliger said that the team is grateful for the support of Hertfordshire and thanked everyone, active in the process.
He added that he is hopeful that the team can achieve some good results at the games by us the outstanding facilities being made available to them
