Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Solidarity Sponsored Coaching Course recently, Technical Director of the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA), Lenny Lake stated that the 4-0 loss that the Senior National Team received against Canada, on 15th November, was their first loss since their defeat to Grenada in the Digicel Caribbean Cup in November of 2010.
Mr. Lake also pointed out that the National Team also has an impressive record at Warner Park where their last defeat was a 1-0 lost to Jamaica in 2009.
The Technical Director went on to say that “something has to be working here” and told the coaches in attendance that the further development of the National Team is dependent on the development of the coaches here.
The St. Kitts and Nevis National Team is ranked 109th on the official FIFA rankings and SKNFA President Anthony Johnson said that when he took over the Association the Senior National team was ranked 163 and said indicated a goal of the SKNFA is to achieve a world ranking of better than 100.
