“St. Kitts and Nevis Energy Week 2011,” from 6th to 12th November, 2011 will be observed under the theme “Sustainable Energy for Economic Security,” by the Energy Department of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Ministry hopes that all nationals will become aware of the steps that can be taken together to secure a sustainable future through the wise use of energy.
“Energy Week serves to highlight the successful strides already taken in the renewable energy sector in the Federation and to engage all in a discussion about our future plans as it relates to energy. Together with the rolling out of the Federal National Energy Policy, the activities will feature exhibitions, school presentations, energy fieldtrips and radio programming with energy stakeholders,” the Ministry of Energy said in a statement on Tuesday.
It invites nationals and residents in St. Kitts and Nevis to participate in the week of activities to mark energy week by learning about new energy alternatives and future projects related to geothermal, wind and solar energy from industry professionals and senior government officials.
“Be part of this unique platform and show your commitment to making St. Kitts and Nevis a leading player in the quest for a sustained energy future,” said the Ministry.
It said the week of activities is supported and funded by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Organisation of American States (OAS).
