Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 02, 2021 (SKNIS): Tourism continues to be an important part of the economic strategy of St. Kitts and Nevis and as such will be celebrated from November 01-30 with the usual traditional Tourism Month of Activities that are tailored to ensure that there is greater involvement by all.

The activities planned for November include radio and television discussions; Heritage and Wellness Hike; Unveiling of Signage at Timothy Hill; Family Feud Tourism Edition; Beach Cleanup; Staff Development; Launch of Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with Sustainable Trade International (STT) ‘Resident Satisfaction Survey’; Plastic Free Info-cade; Health and Fitness Mile Run; Praise and Worship with Team Tourism and the 8th Annual St. Kitts Yacht Club Peninsula Swim.

The activities are aimed at creating greater awareness of tourism and highlighting the fact that the tourism sector is vitally important to St. Kitts and Nevis.

During a televised address to the nation on Monday, November 01, 2021, to declare the month open, the Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, commended the organising committee for its commitment.

“I want at this juncture to express my profound thanks to the members of the Tourism Awareness Month Organising Committee from the Ministry of Tourism and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. I am indeed fortunate to have such a talented and committed team working together again this year to plan such a varied menu of activities, designed to foster local awareness of the value of tourism to our country,” he said.
