The home team piled on a massive 672 runs for the fall of 9 wickets, with some of the top batsmen getting centuries.
St. Kitts eventually declared today just before lunch on Day 2.
St. Kitts ended Day 1,(Wednesday 13th June) with a total of 517-3, off 116 overs, which some are claiming has to be a record for the highest total ever made in one day, at any level of the game, but certainly in the Leeward Islands Tournament.
Leading the charge for the Kittitian team were Welton Edwards, who got to 184, Javal Hodge made 219, and Captain Jacques Taylor got 98.
Bowling for Anguilla saw Lyndel Richardson taking 1 wicket for 21 runs; Chaka Hodge had 2 wickets for 98 runs while 3 wickets went to Yannick Leonard who conceded 129 runs.
These matches are being sponsored by the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, St. Kitts Cricket Association, Nevis Cricket Association and supported by Ministry of Sport, in the Government of St Kitts; and the Nevis Sports Department.
