Debate one of the competition saw team leader Letharius Saunders and Patrick Walters opposed the moot, “The IMF is the answer to the financial crisis in the Caribbean’ and netting some 603 points, but lost to Antigua who received 612 points.
Though losing to the Antiguans, Kittitian Patrick Walters walked away with the title ‘Best Speaker Award’.
On Friday, Montserrat will come up against host country Anguilla, while on Saturday defending champions Nevis, will compete against Antigua.
The St. Kitts Debate team is usually selected from members of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College Debating Society.
An official from the College has stated, “Although Antigua won tonight’s debate, we are proud of the performance of our two debaters.”
