Ms. Musgrave-Archibald was speaking at a public function last Saturday, 25th June, 2011, downtown Basseterre, during a promotional event, organized with the St. Kitts U-23 Team, by the Local netball association.
Musgrave, who is a former netball star, who in the 1970s led St. Kitts’ battle to win the Caribbean Championships, defeating the likes of Trinidad & Tobago, told the players, picked in the squad for the 2011 tournament, that a solid performance is required from the each of them.
She also said that she was confident that the players would secure the trophy for the host country.
While on their promotional tour through Basseterre on Saturday, the players encouraged members of the public to turn out in their large numbers, to provide full support for Team St. Kitts.
The ECCB/OECS U23 Netball Tournament is scheduled to start here on Saturday, 2nd July, with games being played at the Pam Tyson Netball Complex, at Warner Park.
An official Opening Ceremony has been planned for 4:30pm, also on Saturday, with matches scheduled to start nightly, at 6:00pm. The 2011 competition will come to a climax on Wednesday 6th July.
The St. Kitts Team is being coached by Avonelle Julien.
Other territories to be represented are Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent & The Grenadines.
