St. Maarten Prime Minister to Attend Her First CARICOM Summit in St. Kitts

To this end, a special invitation has been extended to St. Maarten’s Prime Minister, Sarah Wescott-Williams, to attend the CARICOM meeting.

The invitation was extended by incoming Chairman of CARICOM, St. Kitts & Nevis Prime Minister, Denzil Douglas.

Prime Minister Wescot-Williams is reported to have told the media in St. Maarten, on Wednesday, 15th June, 2011, that she has accepted the invitation to attend the July 1st to 4th meeting.

“CARICOM has several Councils on matters of interest to St. Maarten,” said Prime Minister Wescott-Williams.

She said she hopes to discuss St. Maarten’s involvement in these Councils and eventual membership of CARICOM during the visit to St. Kitts.
