This time around the good news is centered on three childhood friends who, attended the St Pauls Primary School, graduating at the top of their class, then moved on to the Sandy Point High School now the Charles E. Mills Secondary School and later graduated with an Associate Degree from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.
The outstanding performance of the trio continued into university and on 15th May, 2011, families witnessed Davin Francis, Randel Thompson and Nelvin Maynard, all from the historic village of St Paul’s, making their families, friends, community and nation proud after completing studies at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), St. Thomas Campus.
Mr. Francis obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Magna cum laude), Mr. Thompson a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Cum laude) and Mr. Maynard a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting (Cum Laude), all of which came from hard work and dedication.
While pursuing studies, Davin and Randel were chosen to represent the University in the United States of America at the National Conference on Student Leadership and became certified Student leaders. They both returned to the campus in St Thomas with open minds and exhibited exemplary skills to transform the Student Life there.
According to a spokesperson for the St. Pauls Community group known as Youth Reuniting Reconstructing and Reviving St Paul’s (YRS),the three graduates have made their parents, families and friends very proud given their accomplishments and the community wishes them the very best in the future careers.
“Without goals and aims to reach them you’re like a ship which has set sail with no destination,” said the spokesperson.
