St. Peters Church of God to host “School of the Prophets” Conference

The event – which will be held at the SPCOG sanctuary – stretches over the upcoming weekend, beginning on Thursday, 25th November and concluding on Sunday, 28th November, 2010.

Speaker for the conference is Prophetess Muriel Weekes-Ylestin who hails from the United States Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, and who founded the “Let the Prophets Prophesy Prophetic Academy.

Pastor of the SPCOG, Glen England, in an interview with MiyVue explained that a conference such as this is of necessity and is of great importance is the Body of Christ is to function as it was commanded by God to function.

“I believe that we are in the end time where we believe that God is doing something mighty. I am impregnated with the idea of the school of the prophet and the reason for the School of the Prophecy is to understand about prophecy, to understand if there are prophets in this time, 2010. For some reason, people believe there are no prophets in these times. God rested on my heart the need to bring clarity to the Body of Christ because there are many persons in the Body of Christ who are quenching what the Spirit of God is doing in them; afraid because of what they hear people say. God is speaking to them, God is giving them visions, God is trying to get them to pray for people for them to get their deliverance. And somehow, the ministry of the prophet is being fought. There are two major ministries which I see this happening to; the ministry of the apostle and the ministry of the prophet.

Understanding that skepticism exists, Pastor England encouraged persons to, rather than staying away and seeking to pass judgment, attend the conference and “judge according to the word”.

“We are not just having a prophet coming to the island and just prophesying to the people. She is coming to the island and she is going to be teaching on the ministry gift. You will be taught of the ministry of the prophet. She will teach on the office of the prophet, the spirit of prophecy, the school of prophecy the function of prophecy. She will also teach on deliverance. Then she will be demonstrating these things by the power of God. So you will be in a school. You will receive the opportunity to purchase handouts; you can go back to your church and share these things with your congregation. So any questions anyone would have on prophecy would be answered,” Pastor England explained.

The Thursday and Friday sessions begin at promptly at 7:30 nightly while the Saturday morning session begins promptly at 9:00 am. A session will also be held on Sunday evening which will begin punctually at 7:30.
