Following the draw, MiyVue.com spoke with ‘Stitch in Time’ about his selection to open the competition.
“It doesn’t matter what number you draw, what matters is that you give a good performance and set a bar for the other competitors to follow,” he said.
“I came to here (ZIZ studio) with an open mind and everyone is afraid to pick the number one position to perform. For me I’m hoping that my selection as first calypsonian to perform in round one will have a good outcome, but it’s going to be a great show,” he added.
Meanwhile, Queen Anastasia who is the daughter of the reigning calypso monarch, King Socrates, will be seeking a double crown after winning the Female Calypso Bacchanal on Friday, 17th December.
“I know all eyes will be on the father and daughter battle, but I’m going to ‘bring it’ on the night of the show. My dad is a great calypsonian but, I am seeking to a double crown and I will surely be bringing my best performance on the night of the final,” she told this media house.
The Senior Calypso Monarch competition will be held at the Sugar Mill (Warner Park) on Wednesday 29th December.
