When the traditional Carnival Day Parade of troupes and bands is held on 1st January, 2014, the convoy is expected to make its way from Wigley Avenue in West Basseterre, travelling along Cayon Street, before turning into Sandown Road, headed for the Bay Road.
The Licensing Authority in St. Kitts has therefore issued a traffic advisory, informing the public, but especially motorists, that these and other streets will be closed for both Carnival Day and Last Lap.
In addition, traffic restrictions will be applied on December 31st, when the Junior Carnival Parade is hosted.
The police have also release the full list of streets that will be closed and parking restricted applied for the purpose of facilitating the smooth flow of traffic for Sugar Mas 42 National Carnival Parades on December 31st 2013, January 1st and 2nd 2014.

- South Square Street
- East Square Street
- Pond Road
- Sandown Road
- Bay Road (between Sandown Road and College St.)
- Lr. College St
- Liverpool Row
- Fort Street
These streets will be closed to general vehicular traffic from 11:00 am until activities end on December 31st, January 1st and 2nd.
December 31st being a normal work day, motorists are asked to remove their vehicles from the above listed streets by 12:00 noon.
Police have also indicated that a stage will be erected on the Bay Road opposite Rams Supermarket, and NO PARKING will be permitted in the parking area outside Rams, thus motorists are asked to remove their vehicles from this area by 2:00 p.m. on the days mentioned.
To assist motorists, traffic signs will be placed to indicate restrictions and violators are warned that they will be towed and applicable fines and fees imposed if not in compliance of the traffic laws.
