Sugar Boys Off To Second Stage of DIGICEL Cup

 

Now, The National Senior Football Team travels to Grenada on Wednesday, (20th October), to compete in the Group E stage of the tournament.

Since winning the first round of the tournament which was held in St. Vincent, the team has been back in St Kitts training daily for the trip to Grenada.  According to Coach Clinton Percival, “The team has been practicing since we came back as we only had about 10 days to prepare. We have been focusing on goal scoring as this was one of our challenges in the first round.”

In an effort to enhance the team’s performance in the second stage, a number of changes have been made to the squad.

“Some changes have been made to the team that will travel to Grenada. We have brought in Stephen Clarke, who will replace Keith “Kayamba Gumbs, Sashi Isaac for Earl Jones , Alexis Richards for Akil Benjamin and Errol O’Loughlin will replace Devaughn Elliot,” explained coach Percival.

St. Kitts & Nevis is scheduled to play Guadeloupe on October 22, Grenada on October 24 and Puerto Rico on October 26.

The National Team includes: Alexis Saddler, Jevon Francis, Tishan Hanley, Akil Byron, Austin Lewis, Tiran Hanley, Thrizen Leader, Kareem Mitchum, Joel Jeffers, Ian Lake, Keithroy Richards, George Isaac, Orlando Mitchum and Gerard Williams, Sashi Isaac, Stephen Clarke, Alexis Richards, Errol O’Loughlin.
