Owner of the LIME Restaurant and well known pageant organizer, Randy Jeffers will host St. St. Kitts’ carnivore’s Sugar Mas key players, among them, 30 Calypsonians and queen contestants, according to an event release.
Along with performances from top calypsonians in the Proud Sounds Calypso Tent, the six National Carnival Queen Contestants will grace the event by participating in a grand fashion show that will feature local designers. Reigning Nevis Culture Queen, Santonya Mills and Miss St Kitts & Nevis, Iantavian Queeley, will also make appearances; and so too would be the reigning Miss Caribbean Culture, Oneka McKoy from St. Lucia.
Grand Masters will spice the event, according to Randy Jeffers. He said reigning St. Kitts Calypso Monarch, King Pungwa, Ayatollah, King Konris, De Rock-a-Fellow, reigning Nevis Calypso King, Hollywood, Astro and others, will entertain the audience.
The Ministry of Tourism will launch the Miss Teen Hospitality 2012 pageant during the occasion.
Jeffers said tickets are being sold in advance. Tickets costs EC20.00 per person. The event has been well promoted, he said. He called on visitors on the island to attend and see what St. Kitts and Nevis culture is like.
Partnering with Jeffers is Lime, TDC and the Carib Brewery. Lime is sponsoring the Calypso Tent while TDC has supported the event by donating in kind and cash. Jeffers revealed that there will be a Carib Brewery Happy hour at 1.00 p.m.
