Matthew Murphy is a non-national who was employed at the Rawlins Plantation for the past 10 months. Police were called to the scene near Belmont Estate and Rawlins Plantation at about 11:45 A.M. Friday (December 30, 2011) to investigate reports of a man found not breathing, with stab wounds to his torso; who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kevin Horstwood is the General Manager of the Rawlins Plantation where Matthew Murphy worked. Horstwood was arrested at the Basseterre Police Station in the presence of his attorney. 

Matthew Murphy's family has been notified of this tragic incident and have expressed sincere gratitude to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for their handling of the investigation.
