Suspects charged for murdering teenager Rakeim Hanley

A police press statement reads, “Following an intense investigation into the murder of 19 years old Rakeim ‘Rackbo’ Hanley formally of Fort Thomas Road, two (2) brothers, 27 years old Souvin Adolfo Ritchen and 22 years old Trevon Travis Ritchen, both of Upper Durant Avenue, were formally arrested, charged and cautioned for the murder of Rakeim ‘Rackbo’ Hanley.”

Hanley was attacked in McKnight on the evening of August 25 and later died from his injuries at the JNF General Hospital.

An earlier press release from the Public Relations Office of the Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force, stated that Assistant Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley, with responsibility for criminal investigations, said, “The two suspects taken into custody were picked up based on credible information, and they are assisting with the investigation.”

ACP Queeley said of the arrests, “The Violent Crime Unit ought to be commended (for the) investigation into this case which lead to the speedy arrest of the brothers charged… I thank everyone who were instrumental in the entire process of the investigations for the valuable role they played.”
