Taste Kittitian Restaurant Celebrating First Anniversary

One such enterprise has been the recently established restaurant, TASTE KITTITIAN that specialises in local dishes. The month of December marks the first anniversary for the dining establishment which is located on Cayon Street, Basseterre, and is owned by Alexis Nisbett, Akila Nisbett, his wife, and his sister Carlene Nisbett.

Taste Kittitian offers authentic cuisine using all local food, said Mrs. Akila Nisbett. She also mentioned that the aim is to give patrons an “at home feeling” from eating “granny’s food” in an atmosphere of ambiance.

It also offers services for catering and the restaurant equally provides an option for using the facility for hosting private parties. The Party Rentals option provided will include the cost for catering and decorating, said Mrs. Nisbett.

Mrs. Nisbett indicated that in honour of celebrating their first anniversary, as a newly established local restaurant, there will be favourable discounts on meals, special discounts for valued customers and surprise give-aways, later in December.

As the owners reflect on their first year of operation, Mrs. Nisbett was very optimistic when she indicated that the year has been “simply encouraging”.

“We know generally things have been slow, not only with our business, but throughout the country. However we are very confident that our sales levels will build as more and more people learn about our establishment.”

From the feedback that we have received from our customers, they have made it clear that we have accomplished that mission. This is what encourages us and motivates us to carry on”

It was only recently that the restaurant was also included in filming carried out by a television crew from Japan, when they were in St. Kitts on an exchange program with ZIZ; shooting various island scenes, including local dining. Taste Kittitian was therefore selected as one of the featured products, and this has been accepted as evidence that the public too is beginning to embrace the facility as the emerging number one restaurant, with authentic Kittitian dishes.

The opening hours to the public are from 7:00 am- 3:00pm, on Mondays to Thursdays; Friday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm; and 7:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturdays.

Taste Kittitian is inviting all valued and new customers to partake in the special celebration of business success.
