New information that surfaced Tuesday morning is saying that Swift was incensed that the 18-year-old One Direction singer was flirting with tons of bikini-clad fans on their New Year’s vacation in the British Virgin Islands. The flirting got so bad, according to fans who were on the same island at the time, that Swift became incensed.
Soon a heated argument ensued between the two singers. Swift has long been known for her us-against-them mentality when it comes to love. And sources who know both singers say that Swift demands full attention all the time. We hear Styles didn’t quite see it that way. He just wanted to have a good time, party in the hot tub and relax. But that is how Swift viewed this vacation.
In December, Swift made sure they met one another’s families. She got to know Styles’ family at the One Direction’s Dec. 3 show at Madison Square Garden in NYC. And she even flew to England to spend time with them during the holidays! According to sources who know the couple those decisions came from Swift.
Styles, who is known to be sweet and unassuming, was happy to go along with Swift’s plans. But a serious relationship? Maybe not. His One Direction band mates have been warning him that Swift wants too much, too quickly. And that she has a reputation for making sure things go her way.
“Loads of his friends told him to be careful and that it was never going to last, and he feels a little foolish now that it’s fallen apart so quickly,” a source told Life & Style Weekly. Styles would have been happy to continue dating Swift, we hear. But her terms were pretty strict. Basically: Cater to me.
Despite the fact that Haylor met one another’s families in December, fans wondered what was up when they walked the red carpet separately at Z100’s at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 7. Styles clearly wasn’t ready to come out as a couple – or do those dreaded joint interviews, for that matter.
It’s no secret that One Direction fans are obsessed with the Brit boy band that was discovered on the British version of the “X Factor” in 2010. One fan even lodged a death threat at Swift.
After fans saw the two singers at “X Factor USA,” one lashed out at the country crooner. “You’re a f***ing ugly b**ch. I want to stab you to death and play around with your blood,” a user with the name Patrick Bateman, the serial killer character from “American Psycho,” wrote.
Dislike for the 23-year-old singer who is fond of younger men is nothing new. From the time she started dating Conor Kennedy in June she was viewed as an older woman seducing a younger man. She was 22 at the time; he was 18.
She’s been accused of crashing a Kennedy wedding and kidnapping Conor when she missed him. “How did I kidnap him?” . “You can’t kidnap a grown man! These are serious accusations, now! It’s an interesting way to spin something into a story. See, this is why I don’t read stuff.”
“The way I look at love is you have to follow it, and fall hard, if you fall hard. You have to forget about what everyone else thinks,” she continued. “It has to be an us-against-the-world mentality. You have to make it work by prioritizing it, and by falling in love really fast, without thinking too hard.”
Now it seems that Swift’s “really fast, really hard” perspective on love has gotten her into trouble once again. The question is: How quickly will we see one of those famous breakups songs?
