Educators across the country will therefore be involved in the Ministry of Education’s Summer Workshops for teachers.
Hundreds of teachers will be gathering for the event, which is being held under the theme ‘Commitment to Excellence’. The Opening ceremony for the series of workshops will be taking place at the Rivers of Living Water Christian Centre on Monday 26th August at from 9:00 a.m.
Chief Education Officer, Ms. Clarice Cotton, indicated that teachers need to be given every opportunity to improve their professional development. “Every effort to better equip our teachers to be effective and proficient is of paramount importance to the Ministry,” Ms. Cotton said.
Courses will include Primary Infant Reading, Primary Junior Reading, Math Specialist, Principals, School Banking, New Teachers, Learning Support, Secondary Teachers, Child Friendly Schools, Reading Recovery, and Special Needs Education.
CXC Registrar, Dr. Didacus Jules will deliver the feature address at the Opening Ceremony.
The Venues for the workshop sessions include Irish Town Primary, Warner Park Press Dining Room, FND, Washington Archibald High, Basseterre High, Curriculum Development Unit, NEMA, Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School.
