This closure is to facilitate Carnival’s Basseterre Alive activities.

During this period traffic will be permitted to flow eastwards along Central St. from Church Street up to New Street.

The purpose of these closures is to facilitate road repairs by the Public Works Department and the owners of vehicles parked on these streets are asked to remove them during this period.

The following streets that will be closed to vehicular traffic are:

1.  Pitcairn Street

2.  Stainforth Street

3. Carty Alley

4. Caunt Street

5.  Sheppard Street

In addition, motorists are asked to note that the Public Works Department is presently preparing the infrastructure for the installation of street lighting along the Island’s Main Road between Sandy Point and St. Pauls.

During this phase of the project motorists are asked to exercise extra care and caution in affected areas. Work is expected to last approximately two (2) weeks and road signs will be placed to identify the affected areas.
