A police report informs that earlier today (14th April), 27-year-old Dustin Lapsey of Bath Village 31-year-old Asim Parris of Stoney Grove and 19-year-old Raphael Wallace of New Castle were arrested and charged with the 8th April, 2011 slaying.
Smithen is the Federation’s 7th murder victim for the year and according to reports, he was in the yard of his place of employ, Pennyless Tyre Repairs – located at Pump Road, Stoney Grove – when a masked gunman entered the compound and shot him multiple times about his body including in his chest. The wounded 22-year-old was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital to undergo emergency medical treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has advised that it is still making investigations into the matter.
To date, seven murders have occurred in the federation of St. Christopher and Nevis, six on St. Kitts and one on Nevis, all of which are said to be still under investigation.
