Tishima Browne is 2014 Carnival Queen

The coronation on Sunday night of Miss National Bank, Tishima Browne was generally well received by the large audience that turned out to give their support to the five contestants in this year’s pageant.

But after five tough appearances in Swimwear, Talent, Evening Wear, Interview and National Pride, it was Browne who got the nod of the judges and recorded her name indelibly in the history books of St. Kitts and Nevis and carnival.

Browne’s victory was easily attained if one is to be guided by the score sheet of the judges. She amassed 721.5 points, some 45.5 more than her nearest rival in First Runner-up, who managed only 676 points.

On her way to the throne, the bank teller also picked up honours for Best Performing Talent and Best Interview.

She was followed in First Runner-up position by Akiesha Fergus who was sponsored by Carib Brewery. Fergus also copped the title for Best National Pride.

Taking the Second Runner-up spot was a not too happy Jackiema Flemming, sponsored by LIME, whose disappointment was hard to conceal. Flemming however had reasons to celebrate because she also managed the Best Evening Wear title, Best Swimwear and the consolation prizes for Miss Photogenic and the Chairman’s Award.

The consolation awards for Miss Amity and People’s Choice went to Miss Development Bank, Shaneil Francis.

The show, hosted on Sunday night, (28th December), was held at Carnival Village on Victoria Road.

Her disappointment perhaps was connected to the fact that the points difference between her and the First Runner-up, was a small margin of four. Flemming however had reasons to celebrate because she also managed the Best Evening Wear title, Best Swimwear and the consolation prizes for Miss Photogenic and the Chairman’s Award.
