Speaking with MiyVue.com, Head explained that there are scholarships that are being offered by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association for persons working in the Tourism Industry throughout the region, including St. Kitts and Nevis.
“This year they have made everything available online at www.chtaeducationfoundation.com and this website will explain everything that is required for interested persons looking to further their studies in this field,” the HTA manager explained.
Head went on to indicate, “This is the opportunity for Kittitians to take advantage of this offer, because there are a number of benefits that can be derived from these scholarships.”
According to a release from the HTA, “The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Education Foundation is offering Professional Development scholarships that support short-courses in specific industry skills leading to diploma or certification and Academic Scholarships for full-time, part-time and on-line programs of study leading to an industry qualification or degree.”
It was also stated in the release that applicants must be Caribbean Nationals and first source their chosen course of study along with specific costs, duration, overview of content and final qualification details, then complete the application form and ensure the local Hotel & Tourism Association reviews & signs the form.
The application period runs from Wednesday 5th January through 30th March, 2011.
Mr. Head further noted that upon reviewing the information online, “applicants must apply through the local office (St Kitts and Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association) for the applications to be stamped, then forwarded to the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association.”
