According to Skerritt, “We are excited to host this inaugural event, which gives St Kitts & Nevis the opportunity to showcase our two world-class golf courses as well as the rich natural assets of our islands.
“We intend to make this annual event a cornerstone of a new and aggressive foray into holiday golf travel. With two more championship courses currently being developed on St. Kitts, we expect golf tourism to become an even stronger niche market in the future.”
The Admiral’s Cup got underway on Thursday 6th January. The 54-hole championship features mostly North American Pro-Am teams who will compete on two of the Caribbean’s most scenic and challenging courses, Royal St. Kitts Golf Club and Four Seasons Resort Nevis Golf Club.
Days one and three of the Championship will be played at the links-style Royal St. Kitts Golf Club which offers golfers the unique ability to play on two different oceans in the same round. The 3rd and 4th holes overlook the Caribbean Sea while holes 15, 16 and 17 directly border the Atlantic Ocean. Day two of the event will be held at the Nevis Golf Club, which features the Robert Trent Jones II designed championship layout, suitable for players of all skill levels.
