Tourism minister promotes St. Kitts to Canadian travel agents, tour operators

A team headed by Minister of Tourism Lindsay Grant is on a promotional tour meeting various stakeholders and exploring segments of the Canadian market. Recently, the St. Kitts tourism delegation met with media representatives, tour operators and travel agents during a luncheon held at Trump International Hotel & Towers, Toronto.

Tourism Authority CEO Racquel Brown introduced St. Kitts’ newest 10-minute destination video. The video showcased the island’s culture, history, natural scenery, food and citizens.

According to information released by the Tourism Authority, Minister Grant outlined for the audience several of the country’s tourism development projects. Referring to the video, he said, “As you have seen, we have recently opened our new private jet terminal, The YU Lounge, the first slips at the mega-yacht marina at Christophe Harbour and the Belle Mont Farm cottage hotel at Kittitian Hill.”

He continued, “Over the next two years, we will also be opening the Park Hyatt St. Kitts, Embassy Suites by Hilton, St. Kitts and Koi Resort & Residences.  However, sustainability continues to be a top priority and we will continue to ensure that all new construction adheres to best practices. While our growth is strong, it will not be explosive or disturb the natural tranquility and charm of St. Kitts.”

Air Canada Vacations offered a pair of tickets for a lucky winner at the luncheon to fly to St. Kitts on the Air Canada weekly service from Toronto during peak tourism season.
