Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 28, 2018 (SoraCommunications):* Product Development Manager of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority Melnecia Marshall has applauded the Sweet & Savory Bistro and The Culinary Studio for improving the attraction to the destination of St. Kitts by adding another option in terms of learning how to cook professionally.
At the official opening of the eating establishment on March 23, 2018, Mrs. Marshall acknowledged Sweet & Savory Bistro Owner/Manager Stephanie Naraindas for bringing another component as part of her business, specifically, The Culinary Studio.
“We are excited about the partnership that it brings to our destination, as it relates to our own students who are at the CFBC (Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College),” Mrs. Marshall said observing that several former and present CFBC were in attendance at the small gathering. “And it offers our nationals an opportunity to come and learn how to cook outside of CFBC.
The aspect of the unique blend of International and Caribbean cuisine offered at the Sweet & Savory Bistro, at the hand of Mrs. Naraindas was also highlighted by Mrs. Marshall.
“We are very excited about what the Sweet & Savory Bistro has to offer the destination. Many of our guests are looking for a unique experience. They want an opportunity to immerse themselves in our culture, in our food,” Mrs. Marshall said, having the knowledge that the breakfast menu includes saltfish and johnny cake for breakfast while the popular mutton stew is offered for dinner. “Having this establishment offers our guests the opportunity to dine and experience cooking in our tradition – St. Kitts and Caribbean style – offering them that flavour.”
The Culinary Studio is where the food for the Bistro is prepared daily. Uponreservation, the Studio also serves as the site for food and cocktail demonstrations and on occasion interactive cupcake-making parties for children and meal and cocktail-making events for adults. At the opening, Stephanie Naraindas graciously welcomed all to the brief ceremony noting that what began as a hobby had blossomed into a career.
“All of you throughout the years have been supporting me, getting cakes for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, you name it,” Mrs. Naraindas said in an emotional presentation. “And I just enjoy doing this, and today we are here opening a store which is a dream of mine. I can’t even imagine this is happening and I have all of you to thank.”
Mrs. Naraindas took the opportunity to single out her husband Anil (Larry) Naraindas, her business partner Ricky Sewlani, and her friends Pooja Alwani and Natalie John.
Sweet and Savory Bistro and the Culinary Studio opens daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Royal Plaza, Zenway Blvd, Frigate Bay, St. Kitts
