The traffic restrictions, according to a press release issued by the Traffic Department, will be in effect during match days (20th – 24th May) from 6:00 a.m. until 30 minutes following the conclusion of the matches.
The communiqué indicates that parking will not be allowed on Victoria Road, East Park Range, Lozack Road between Burt Street and East Park Range, the NHC road (which is north of the National Housing Cooperation) and the northern side of Seaton Street.
Restrictions to the flow of traffic will also be effected making certain roads which would regularly see traffic flowing both ways, would be open to “one way” traffic only.
Vehicles would only be permitted to flow south to north along Victoria Road, north to south along East Park Range, west to east along the NHC road and west to east along Lozack Road. Entrance to Lozack Road would be closed from the Wellington Road end.
The release indicates that the portion of Lozack Road which lies between Victoria Road and Hart Street will be closed to vehicular traffic and with regard to parking, the following will be implemented:
· Only persons with relevant car passes will be permitted to park inside Warner Park. These persons will enter via the Western Gate only.
· Vendors will enter the stadium via the Marathon gate opposite the Old Boy’s School. Again passes must be presented to gain access. Access will be granted only at pre-determined times.
· On street parking for patrons in non-restricted areas will be permitted.
· Parking will be permitted on the BHS grounds on Saturday and Sunday only.
The cooperation of the public is anticipated and the public is asked to note that vehicles which are illegally parked, may be removed.
