Tropical storm Dorian heading our way

A report from the St. Kitts Meteorological Services at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport stated that at 11 am Friday 26th July, 2013, the center of Tropical Storm Dorian was located near 17.7 N 43 W, or about 1295 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. The present movement is WNW with amximum sustained winds of 50 MPH.

Ther are no coastal watches or warning in effect for any of the islands but residents in St. Kitts and Nevis and the rest of the Leeward Islands should monitor the developments.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles…95 km from the center. 

The system is projected to pass north of the islands on Sunday.  However, residents should continue to monitor the progress of this system until it passes.
