Tropical Wave Affecting St. Kitts & Nevis and Eastern Caribbean

According to the St. Kitts Meteorological Services at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, in Basseterre, a tropical wave and associated moisture will destabilise weather conditions across the Eastern Caribbean today and tonight.

St. Kitts & Nevis and other territories in the Virgin, Leeward and Windward Islands will be cloudy at times with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms today and portions of this evening. 

Cloudy to overcast skies with showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, today and tonight over Hispaniola.

Neighbouring Puerto Rico will be partly cloudy, to cloudy at times, with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, in the afternoon and evening hours. 

The Met Office here has also indicated that Winds will be ENE – E at 6 – 14kts with higher gusts in showers.

Fishermen, boaters and others should note that the Seas would see slight to moderate waves at 1.5m or 5 ft.

Meanwhile the overall Weather Forecast for St. Kitts & Nevis for Wednesday 13th July shows cloudy skies with occasional scattered showers this morning and afternoon. Few isolated thunderstorms could also develop.
