The Press Officer of the Force, Sgt. Stephen Hector has confirmed that 24 year old Inebo Hendrickson of Upper Monkey Hill and 19 year Old Oval Lake of Shadwell Estate, were both formally arrested and charged, on the 16th March, 2012.
These two persons were charged in connection with the shooting of Shirvin David at Prickley Pear Ally, which occurred on Sunday 11th March, 2012.
Hector said however that bail for both persons was objected to by the Police and the two men are currently on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Inspector Smithen, has indicated that their success in making the arrests so soon was facilitated by the assistance of members of the public
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police also commended the General Public for their support throughout the past six months.
Celvin Walwyn said he wishes to assure the public, however, that as they, as an organisation, intensify the Law Enforcement Strategies, in the next quarter of 2012, emphasis will also be placed internally, on the training of officers to tactfully subdue, restrain and detain persons.
This type of training is important as it affords the individual officer a better resolve during physical contact with offenders and limits the extent of possible injury once effectively applied, explained the police.
