Even though the crowd was very small, the children all executed strong public speaking skills, poise and talent.
Participants represented the Bronte Welsh, Dr. William Connor, Dieppe Bay, St. Paul’s, Dean Glasford, Irish Town, Estridge, Cayon, Tyrell Williams and Saddlers.
At the end of the night the winners of each judged segment were:
Best Promotional Speech– Cayon Primary School
Best Talent– Dean Glasford Primary
Best Youth Formal Wear– Tyrell Williams Primary School
The decision for best Youth Formal Wear however created some controversy amongst teachers and chaperons as they felt that the organizers failed to provide the judges with an explanation on the dress. It was stated that the girls were not allowed to wear spaghetti straps but cover ups, which some schools failed to do.
