As part of their on-going program to meet other Under 13 teams, the St. Kitts squad, which has recently been announced, played their counterparts at the Under-15 level, in a 25 Overs a side encounter, on Tuesday, (9th August), at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.
The under 15 team won the toss and elected to bat first and were only able to manage 110 from their allotted 25 overs. Only three players were able to reach double figures-Jeremiah Louis 43, Osbone Hewitt 16 and Akimba Francis 12.
This was due to good aggressive and accurate bowling from the under 13 bowlers.
Bowling for the under 13, Jerrickson Louis bowled five overs for 23 runs and took 2 wickets; Kizani David 5 overs for 17 runs and took 2 wickets; Deshaun Fungafat 5 overs for 26 runs and took 2 wickets.
The Under 13 in reply to the under 15 score of 110, reached their target for the loss of one wicket in 23.4 overs. The Under 13 making 114 for 1.
Batting for Under 13, Jahdel Allen was the only wicket to fall making 8; Xavier Saunders retired hurt for 6; Jaeel Clarke and Camron Pennyfeather then put on a partnership of 86 runs, with Camron Pennyfeather making 57 not out and Jaeel Clarke 29 not out.
The only wicket taker for the Under 15 was Ian James who bowled 5 overs one maiden, 14 runs for one wicket.
The second game is scheduled for Thursday 11th August at Warner Park Cricket Stadium starting at 10 am.
The Under 13 team is preparing for the Department of Sports Annual Regional Under-13 Championship, starting in St. Kitts on 24th August.
