A Government release has confirmed that the Coast Guard will receive two new interceptor vessels under the “Secure Seas” programme.
United States Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, Larry Palmer, will be in the twin-island Federation to hand over the two vessels, plus a vehicle and equipment, to the country’s Prime Minister, Dr. Denzil Douglas, who has ministerial responsibility for the Police and Defence Force.
Prime Minister Douglas and Ambassador Palmer are expected to deliver remarks during the handing over ceremony on Tuesday 30th October at 2:00 p.m. at the Coast Guard Base at Bird Rock.
Ambassador Palmer was also in the Federation last month to hand over equipment to the New Horizons Rehabilitation Center.
