This year, organizers, Kajola Kristada, have decided to expand the activities and have dubbed the weekend of events, Latin Festival. However the main event will continue to be the Latin Fiesta, which is slated for Sunday 21st October, at Carambola Beach Club, while other events have been scheduled for the Marriott, with one for Saturday 20th October.
Amongst the Gold Sponsors who have already confirmed their support for the third annual event, are UPS & Hobson Enterprises, who on Thursday morning this week, (19th July), presented a cheque for US$3,000 or EC$8,100.00 to the Event Coordinator, Ms Michelle Demming, during a handing over ceremony, held at the headquarters of Hobson Enterprises on the Bird Rock Road, Basseterre.
While accepting the cheque from the Managing Director of Hobson Enterprises, Mr. Damion Hobson, the Event Coordinator stated that, “We are happy that Hobson Enterprises and UPS have continued to be on board with us. This is our third year and they have now joined us with their generous support for two of those years.”
“Coming on board as a Gold Sponsor is really significant and they are always the first ones to re-affirm their commitment. And even before the event was completed last year, they were already confirming they support for 2012. This shows that they are committed to the festival and are satisfied with the quality of the product,” said Demming.
Mr. Hobson said his company and his principal, UPS, are supporting the event because they see it as a great opportunity to give back to the people, especially the Latin community in St. Kitts, who continue to use UPS and Hobson enterprises to ship their products in and out of St. Kitts & Nevis.
“We get along very well with the main organizers, Kajola Kristada, who themselves give back much to the community they serve, and so we want to partner with them in putting on this Latin Festival,“ explained Mr. Hobson. Hobson Enterprises, (HE), is the leading shipping company in St. Kitts and Nevis, providing services that include customs brokerage, shipping via UPS, Crowley and Imani. They are a full service entity that caters to the needs of their customers, (both corporate and individuals), from the point of purchase to the point of delivery to homes and businesses.
Speaking to MiyVue.com after the ceremony, Demming admitted that sponsorship is crucial because this is what makes the event possible. “With the funds we receive from sponsors, we are able to make the event much better; but we also use money to market the event to the level we want it to be, because every year we have new expectations. Latin Fiesta has definitely grown a lot. So this year we guarantee that the sponsors will be extremely happy with the product that emerges at the event, “said Ms Demming.
“Sponsorship is going very well and we are still welcoming new ones. Those already confirmed include UPS & Hobson Enterprises, Digicel, Shiggidy Shack, Frito Lay Heineken, Bacardi, Club Social and others.
