NiQuan Energy Trinidad (NiQuan) has successfully secured an injunction from the High Court restraining Petrotrin and PwC from completing any business transactions with parties, other than itself.
The injunction was granted to NiQuan by Justice Mira Dean-Armorer at a Saturday sitting at the Hall of Justice, Port-of-Spain, on June 29. Hearing of the matter has been fixed for September 4.
According to NiQuan’s breach of contract claim, its exclusivity agreement with PwC, as receiver for the WGTL plant, was unlawfully broken.
It has named as defendants in its lawsuit, WGTL, its receiver Brian Hackett –managing director of PwC Trinidad – and the Petroleum Company of TT (Petrotrin).
