US Sprinter Arrested For Identity Theft

He was arrested and released last Wednesday after posting a $10,000 bond. His next court hearing is August 26.

A condition of his bond is that he surrenders his passport. Dodson was slated to run the 200 metres at the championships, with the 200m scheduled to begin on September 2.

His agent, Vince Ewing, says it was Dodson’s identification that was stolen and “apparently used by an unidentified person.”

Ewing says it was that person’s conduct that caused authorities to seek Dodson’s arrest.

USA Track and Field spokeswoman Jill Geer said the organisation is “seeking more information on his situation.”
