UWI Games athletes bat for community service, cultural diversity

Yesterday athletes from all three campuses — Mona, Cave Hill and St Augustine — volunteered at the Maxfield Park Children’s Home as part of a Labour Day outreach project. They participated in the cleaning, beautification and renovation of the co-ed child care facility.

According to Rashid Hall, assistant coordinator for UWI Games, the visit to the children’s home demonstrates the university’s commitment to service in the wider community. “It’s about us trying to give back and ensure the public knows we are not just about sports and partying, but we are also about community service,” he said.
