Speaking with this media-house at the Team Unity’s Fort Street campaign Headquarters, Connor disclosed that whatever position the divine father has in place for him, he is willing to serve in that capacity.
“I intend to continue serving the good people of constituency #6. I will be there permanently,” Connor said.
“Whatever capacity, or whatever role God has in store for me to fill or to play in the development of this country, certainly, I’ll be quite happy to fill that spot,” he added.
The bright smiling first-time candidate explained that the preliminary results of the elections shows that persons have “spoken” and the country of St. Kitts and Nevis needed a change.
“Obviously the writing, the hand writing was on the wall, and it was just a matter of time that this would have been revealed. The country needed a change, and most certainly, the voice of the people has spoken resoundingly, and today it is very clear,” said Connor.
He said it appears that it is “very difficult for others to accept it or believe it, but it is real”.
“We worked very hard for this, and we worked tirelessly for this,” said Connor, who said he believed the victory was divinely inspired.
Vernon Connor was the People’s Action Movements candidate in constituency #6. He came up against a very difficult and seasoned challenger in Dr. Denzil Douglas in a predominately Labour district, in the general elections held 16th February.
