Among the sponsors for Movember were Carib Brewery, Royal St. Kitts Golf Club and Pink Daisy Salon. Jonel Powell, Charles Wilkin, Zachary Getz, Howard McEachrane and a number of other volunteers also participated in live shaves for charity. They collectively raised money by shaving their mustaches and beards, with the owner of Vibes Beach Bar completely shaving his head full of hair during the event to raise awareness in support of men’s health – prostate cancer in particular.

Sally Martin, Movember Organizer, on behalf of Vibes Beach Bar says: “Vibes’ commitment to preventing cancer and also improving the lives of people with cancer goes far beyond just selling drinks and having fun. We were also able to spread awareness which is well needed for this particularly sensitive topic of prostate cancer. I’m extremely proud of everyone who participated and especially those who donated to this cause. Their actions demonstrate that people still do care and Vibes Beach Bar cares as well!!”

Movember organizers Kristen McEachrane and Sally Martin handed over a cheque of EC$6600 to the President Pat Mourillion of the Rotary Club of Liamigua and Nurse Hodge of Dr. Thwaites’ Office to assist with funding for prostate screening from Dr. Thwaites.

The Rotary Club of Liamigua is a service organization dedicated to humanitarianism in St. Kitts and Nevis. Also, in February they will continue to raise funds for this cause with their annual Pork and Beer Fest.

Patrons were entertained all night by Shakal’s Entertainment Xpressions and TNO Sounds. A number of raffles for great prizes also helped to add to the kitty along with proceeds from the sales of Carib and other drink specials.

Vibes Beach Bar officially opened on December 4th, 2012 and has certainly become one of the most popular bars on the famous Frigate Bay Strip (De Strip) and by extension in St. Kitts and Nevis being a favorite for locals and visitors alike.
