Victoria Road Pre-School Adopted by Kiwanis

To this end, the club on April 30th 2011 officially adopted the Victoria Road Pre-school as they endeavour to uplift, encourage and foster continuous relationships with students and staff.

The group has also commenced a program of beautification of the physical environs and the first phase of this project was initiated during the 2nd Divisional Council Meeting of Division 27, last week.

Undertaking the project were members of the  Kiwanis Club of Liamuiga and fellow members of Division 27, with delegates representing the Kiwanis clubs of St. John’s Antigua; Kiwanis of Waitukubuli Dominica; Kiwanis Le Flamboyant,  Kiwanis Club de Fort de France, Club Soleil, Coeur de Creole of Martinique; Pride of Barbados and Barbados – North.Kiwanis-2

The mission was overseen by the Division’s Lieutenant Governor Louis Sealy of Barbados.  During this project, ornamentals were planted by visiting and local Kiwanians.

Students also proved themselves willing and able in the digging, placing and watering of plants.  Toys and monetary contributions were also made by the clubs present.  On hand to facilitate the project were teachers Canecia Warner and Diane Mc. Sheen.

Phase two of the project (painting of the school) will become a reality in the near future, said an official of the local club.
