Village Superstars Makes it to Final Four

It is a well deserved result for Superstars who fought back from a first round disappointment performance to shake up the premier Division, with a remarkable display of football in the latter rounds.

Village will now join Newtown, Conaree and St. Pauls in the Finals to determine who would be crowned the 2011 football champions of St. Kitts & Nevis.

At half time the scores between Village and St. Peters were locked at nil–nil, but an early goal by Devaughn Ellott in the second half, coming in the 50th minute of the match placed Village ahead. The fortunes of St. Peters disappeared in the 69th minute when Travis “Rug Rat” Sommersall found the back of the net to move Village ahead with a 2 nil lead that remained until the final whistle.

Officials were Caldon Duncan, Alexis Joseph, Sherlene Browne & Shatresha Ephraim.

Other results from Saturday saw UDC Garden Hotspurs moving from a half time one nil lead to defeat St. Thomas Trinity Strikers 2-nil. Scirers for Spurs were Royan Wigley in the 14th minute and Glenford Percival in the 49th minute.

Yellow cars were issued to Kendale Liburd (Strikers) 21st minute, Gavin Burham (Strikers) 74th minute, Lenniel Warner (Spurs) 89th minute and Zelon Morton (Spurs) 89th minute.

Officials were Graeme Browne, Lloyd Rouse, Florencetine Morton & Kendrea Tully

Meanwhile in the First Division matches played on Satday, 22n May, National U15 won by default over Sandy Point Allstars. Scheduled officials were Shatresha, Ephraim & Craig Rouse.

On Sunday in the Premier League, Mantab won by default over KFC Trinity Challengers. Officials were Tristley Bassue, Graeme Browne, Florencetine Morton & Shatresha Ephraim.

In the second game Delphic Newtown United 1 vs  S.L.Horsford St. Pauls 0. Half Time 1 – 0 in favour of Newtown.

Yellow Cards were issued to Alexis Saddler (Newtown) 2nd minute, Delvis Harris (St. Pauls) 74th minute.

The lone Red card went to Kiethroy Freeman (St. Pauls) 85th minute.

In the First Division, Davis Construction Lodge Patriots defeated National U15 4-nil. Half time 1–0.

Scorers for Davis Construction Lodge Patriots were Shanel Davis 34th minute. Lexis Thompson 75th minute, Michael Thompson 80th minute, Travis Smithen 89th minute

Officials were Craig Rouse & Shatresha Epraim.

All matches were played at the Newtown Playing Field.
