Wanted Man Surrenders to police

Police sources in St. Kitts confirmed on Tuesday that Ian Pemberton who was wanted by the Criminal Investigation Department surrendered himself to a police officer, who took him to the Basseterre Police Station on Sunday 29th December 2013, about 7:00 pm. 

While police engaged in a nation-wide search for Pemberton they also solicited the support of the national media with the public being sensitized through a wanted poster which was disseminated by the media houses throughout the Federation.

The police had indicated that a warrant of arrest was in existence for Pemberton, for the offence of Battery on Police, Threatening Language and Escaping Lawful Custody, which was committed on 15th December 2013.

The support of the media and public was acknowledged by Commissioner CG Walwyn for their cooperation and assistance in the matter, and he encouraged the community to be very concerned when persons escape from the lawful custody of the police and places of confinement, as these persons may be dangerous.

Walwyn also expressed satisfaction for the way in which the matter ended; without the loss of life or injury.


Wanted man surrenders to police

Police issued a nation-wide alert, via the media, on Thursday 24th October, 2013, indicating that Jermaine Iqubal Niles of New Road Housing was wanted for the offences and that the assistance of the public was needed to help detain him for the alleged acts committed on 1st July, this year.

Police are now indicating that they have got their man. Niles is said to have surrendered to the police, when he saw the wanted poster printed in the media, and he was taken into custody on Friday 25 October 2013.

The media in St. Kitts is being thanked by the local authorities for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
