Jermaine “Huggy” Hopkins, an actor who starred with Morgan Freeman in the 1989 classic Lean On Me, was busted in Arizona this week for allegedly buying 200lbs of weed from an undercover cop.  Hmmm….sounds like intent to distribute.

Jermaine, who played “Thomas Sams” in the film, has been charged with two felony counts of possessing, transporting and trying to sell marijuana. Cops say the 38-year-old actor lives in North Carolina but traveled to AZ to gets the weed.  SMH…….

After the transaction, cops also fouind $100k in cash in Jermaine’s car!  And back at his AZ apartment, they found an additional 100 pounds of weed!

So what led the actor down this road?  Cops say Huggy told them he wanted his family to have a nice Christmas.

He is being held on $35,000 bond and faces 5 years in prison if convicted.
