The Primary Schools in the Central Zone got off to a late start due to a power outage but this did not daunt the spirits of the young contenders who had been practicing their various production pieces for weeks.
The Master of Ceremonies, Rotary Past Assistant District Governor (PAG) for St. Kitts & Nevis, Chris English, ensured that the program flowed smoothly to make up for lost time.
Entering the Competition were students from the Beach Allen, Immaculate Conception, Seventh Day Adventist and Tucker Clarke Primary Schools, vying for supremacy in Dance, Poetry and Vocal Music. Each performance was unique and brought loud cheers from the general audience and various school supporters.
At the end of the performances the participants were provided with constructive feedback on their shortfalls and they were also given tips for improvement in their performing area in the future.
Commenting on the small crowd, one judge encouraged parents, guardians and family members to come out and support their children at functions like the Talent Search, designed to motivate and raise the self esteem of the children while encouraging excellence in the performing arts.
Each participant received a certificate of participation, while all participants placed in the top three (3) positions in each Performing Art Segment received gift vouchers for school supplies.
The first place winners, who also received gift packages from Seven Seas, have qualified to enter the Finals which will be held on Thursday, 16 June 2011 at 7.00 pm at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
The Rotary Club of Liamuiga showered praise on their sponsors LIME and Ram’s Trading Limited, local agents of Seven Seas both Companies, which have partnered with the Rotary Club of Liamuiga over the years to make these Events a success.
