The contest is also coming as part of the casino’s newly-launched super high-roller series which will be a televised $100,000 buy-in event.
The President of the World Poker Tour, Adam Pliska, has indicated that St. Kitts is the perfect setting in which to watch some of the boldest amateur players put their games to the test against the highest-profile professionals.
“The island’s unspoiled tropical beauty will also provide for compelling television in a tropical environment that is both relaxed and inspiring for those seeking a glimpse into this exclusive and exotic lifestyle.”
Another of the players who will also be in attendance is resident high roller Bill Perkins who said he is looking forward to hosting some of poker’s highest rollers in what he called his second home.
“Being able to enjoy my hobby and hone my skills alongside these pro players, all near the natural beauty and warm waters of St. Kitts, will be brilliant.”
Currently, the WPT Alpha8 is in London with a £100,000 buy-in event.
