These are some of the issues that the Caribbean Community is focusing on as it moves to establish the Single ICT Space. The Single ICT Space will allow for harmonisation of the ICT and other legislative frameworks, the removal of roaming charges, the encouragement of digital entrepreneurship, equipping all citizens as digital citizens and looking at ICT financial solutions among other regional benefits.

Discussions on these and other topics geared at leveraging technology for the betterment of the Region were held recently as ICT officials and stakeholders prepared for a Special Ministerial Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) to be held later this year.

Deputy Programme Manager, Information and Communication Technology at the CARICOM Secretariat, Ms. Jennifer Britton, sat down with the Communications Unit for a conversation on the Region’s ICT thrust.
